Use the Video Note Tool to provide audio and video communication and feedback. Using this tool, you can include and record video notes in various part of your course, including announcements, content, discussion, feedback on your assessments, even within the gradebook. When using the Video Note Tool, captions are added to that video automatically. In addition, students can use the Video Note Tool to introduce themselves to their peers in the class in discussions. Basically, this tool can be used to add audio and video throughout the platform.
How to Record Videos for Your Courses (Written Instructions)
To record an announcement video using Video Note Tool:
- Create a new announcement.
- From your course homepage, click the dropdown next to the announcements tool and choose new announcement.
- Create your announcement, your name, and a message. You will use the insert stuff function to choose to embed your video note into this particular announcement.
- When you choose video, your webcam will launch and can record my message.
- Click the next button to insert your video note.
- You will be prompted to add a title, a description, and choose your language. When you choose the language, you can specify that you want closed captions to be automatically generated from the audio of the video.
- Click Next and insert your video note into the announcement.
- Click publish.
- When you come back to the homepage of your course, your newly-created announcement will appear.
