How to Export a Course from Blackboard and Import it into Brightspace
- In your Blackboard course, go to the left side menu and scroll down to your control panel.
- Under Packages and Utilities, click on Export Archive Course.
- On the next page click on Export Package.
- This will bring you to a page containing the settings for your export.
- Under file attachments, make sure you select the bubble to both copy the links and include copies of files from both the course default directory and outside the course default directory under select course materials.
- Click select all to select all of the materials in your course to export.
- When you are ready, click on submit.
- It will take a few minutes depending on how much material there is for Blackboard to export your course into a zip file.
- After a few minutes, refresh the page and a link will appear containing your zip file.
- Click on the link to download it to your computer.
- Now log into Brightspace and go to your course in the navigation bar on the top.
- Click on Course Admin.
- On the next page, under Tools, click on Import/Export/Copy Components.
- On the next page, select the bubble next to import components.
- Click on start.
- Apopup window will appear in which you can import your course package.
- Click on the upload button and then select the zip file containing your course.
- Click Import All Components
- It will take a few minutes depending on the size of the materials for the course to upload.
- When it is done, a notification will pop up confirming its completion.
- You can then click on view content and check the results of your import.
